California Regional Donation Center Senior Manager, Community Partnerships

Reports To: Vice President, Community Partnerships

Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for meeting monthly/quarterly collection goals by creating marketing and promotional campaigns that engage individuals, organizations, and businesses. This position coordinates all Soles4Souls activities at the Riverside California warehouse location.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, leading, supporting, and motivating new shoe drive donors, meanwhile cultivation and coordinating plans and logistics for existing donors.
  • Serving as the public face for S4S in the region and engaging in a variety of speaking engagements.
  • Identifying new partners to host collections on an individual and regional level.
  • Developing strategic marketing plans with the Community Partnership and Multimedia teams to promote current and new collection campaigns.
  • Reporting, forecasting, and developing plans for current territory on all shoe drives and donation bins for budget development.
  • Cultivating donors through volunteering and shoe drive events; providing customer service to donors.
  • Working closely with S4S corporate team to maximize partnerships.
  • Controlling and managing inventory maintaining high levels of accuracy in daily operations/reporting.
  • Creating operational efficiencies to help Warehouse Lead and Warehouse Manager to organize & maintain warehouse for accurate inventory location and counts.
  • Communicating with VP of Community Partnerships daily to update on progress of shoe donations/campaigns.
  • Creating accessibility to existing and future donors by identifying new drop-off locations, new large warehouse partnerships for storage space, and new prospects to house donation bins.
  • Researching targeted groups within the state to engage new supporters and making connections through networking.
  • Communicating regularly to retain relationships through mail merge and individualized emails/texts/calls.
  • Maintaining daily donations, operations, and maintenance of warehouse.
  • Coordinating and helping with shoe pick-ups, shoe pairing, truck loading and additional activities.
  • Communicating and overseeing individual and group volunteers.
  • Maintaining reporting (Align, Worx, daily logs, Raiser’s Edge, & Freshdesk). Attend daily/weekly meetings.

Summary: Senior Manager, Community Partnerships is responsible for shoe and apparel annual collection goals through individuals, organizations, business partners, along with financial goals. The Senior Manager oversees all day-to-day partnerships activities, all planning activities related to their region, and develops mid and long-term strategies and opportunities that align with Soles4Souls’ business objectives and deliver maximum value to the organization. This position coordinates all Soles4Souls activities in Dallas, Texas. This position will need to reside within the geographic region. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate partnerships in community, local businesses, & corporations leading to shoe/apparel collections, cause marketing and fundraising campaigns – meeting specified annual dollar goals. 
  • Identify, lead, support, and motivate new donors, including cultivating existing donors. 
  • Develop strategic action and promotional plans in partnership with operations, marketing and other function areas to promote current and new collection campaigns. 
  • Collaborate and communicate with business development team to strategize and update on progress of shoe donations/campaigns. 
  • Serve as the S4S representative in the region through public speaking engagements, conferences, sustainability events, etc. 
  • Plan, develop, and execute initiatives that contribute to company-wide objectives
  • Consistent track record of delivering a high-volume of partnerships, demonstrated ability to plan and execute strategy with minimal oversight, demonstrated ability of owning the strategic growth of a program

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for experience in building and scaling community partnerships and/or managing external partnerships/relationships with diverse communities

  • Dynamic interpersonal and presentation skills with proven ability to give public presentations to diverse audiences; ability to communicate positively with multiple partners; excellent internal communication with S4S team 
  • Strong relationship management, project management skills, oral and written communication skills for various audiences, & strategic problem solver 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of correspondence and campaign execution 
  • Confident converting networks and leads to partners with a collaborative approach 
  • Strong network and existing relationships with organizations in designated region highly preferred 
  • Ability to Travel 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

The Soles4Souls Internship Program is a paid internship, lasting up to 10 weeks, that offers university students the opportunity to explore the world of nonprofit work. The goal of the S4S Internship Program is to link college coursework and theory with career responsibilities and expectations to help students visualize their future.

Community Partnerships Internship

The Soles4Souls (S4S) Internship Program is a paid up to 10-week internship program that introduces university students to nonprofit employment and career opportunities. The goals of the S4S Internship Program are to link the realms of college coursework and theory with career responsibilities and expectations, which will help the student visualize his/her future.

Community Partnerships is the division of Soles4Souls that concentrates on getting individuals, faith-based organizations, schools, civic groups, businesses and organizations to participate in shoe drives. The sole focus of the CP team is collecting shoes to supply our entrepreneurs with shoes, which are used to create opportunity through small businesses and essentially feed families. We are a “sales” department, but since we’re selling a cool mission, our selling techniques are unique and meaningful.

Overview of duties

  • Help develop new programs to offer to donors that are creative ways to host a shoe drive (like a birthday party program, a Spring-Cleaning campaign, a curbside recycling program, a Denim Day for a business, etc.).
  • Help plan outreach strategies to reach new audiences. This could be via social media posts, press releases, creating fun videos, etc.  
  • Help secure donated space/warehouse partners across the United States in order to have more locations to make donating shoes easier for our donors.

Requirements

  • Students must be currently enrolled rising sophomores or previously graduated from an accredited university.
  • Interns are required to provide their own transportation (if applicable) and laptop
  • Students must submit their complete application, resume and two letters of recommendation to be considered.
  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required.
  • We expect all students and S4S Interns to participate in weekly evaluations and
  • interviews during the program

Outreach Internship

The Soles4Souls (S4S) Internship Program is a paid up to 10-week internship program that introduces university students to nonprofit employment and career opportunities. The goals of the S4S Internship Program are to link the realms of college coursework and theory with career responsibilities and expectations, which will help the student visualize his/her future.

Overview of duties

Soles4Souls’ Outreach Department fulfills half of Soles4Souls’ mission: providing immediate relief through the free distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.  We work in partnership with global non-profits to distribute shoes domestically and internationally. We plan special volunteer events for the organization throughout the year and ensure that free distribution of footwear and clothing continues to be executed successfully through direct and indirect distribution efforts while engaging corporate and community supporters.

  1. Research for domestic/international outreach partners and areas of critical need
  2. Outreach administrative duties
  3. Distribution event planning and execution

Requirements

  • Students must be currently enrolled rising sophomores or previously graduated from an accredited university.
  • Interns are required to provide their own transportation (if applicable) and laptop.
  • Students must submit a completed application, resume and two letters of recommendation to be considered.
  • Previous internship experience preferred, but not required.
  • We expect all students and S4S Interns to participate in weekly evaluations and exit interviews during the program.
